As members are aware, the recent heavy rains have caused floods and landslides in several parts of the country and the consequences have been severe. It was sad to hear that apart from the losses caused to property, there has also been loss of lives.
We are mindful that some of you are directly affected and that this has led to the disruption of work in the facilities that you manage.

At this hour of need, we at the Secretariat thought of keeping you informed that you could always contact us should you require our assistance in relation to advice that you may wish to seek in relation to employment matters such as redeployment/temporary deployment of personnel, granting of leave in the case of absence due to the natural calamity etc. As you know, special consideration will have to be given in the case of employees displaced from their homes.

We have also sent out a circular directing members to provide immediate relief to the communities that have been affected as well. We could also put you in touch with the relevant authorities who are authorized to assist communities that may be affected by this natural disaster.

Whilst we hope that businesses affected will be able to make a full recovery within the shortest possible time, please do not hesitate to contact the Secretariat at this time of need, should you require  assistance.
