1.     The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon is pleased to announce that it will launch an Executive Diploma Programme in Employment Relations in October 2017. This programme will be conducted in collaboration with the International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy (ITC). This is the first collaboration of its kind for the ILO - ITC in the world and the EFC is honoured to have been selected as a partner entity for this exercise. Commenting on this partnership the ITC – ILO officials expressed their views as follows :

  ‘The International Training Centre of the ILO is proud to support the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon in the delivery of the Executive Diploma in Employment Relations; students in the Executive Diploma will get access to online training materials, cases and tools developed by the ITC ILO for its international training programmes. The partnership between EFC and ITC ILO will mutually reinforce our organizations and hopefully constitute a model for employers organizations in other countries which would like to set up similar Diploma courses for the benefits of HR managers in different parts of the world. Better employment relations practices bring better and more competitive companies.

2.     The Executive Diploma in Employment Relations will consist of eight (08) core course units, one (01) elective and a project dissertation, in accordance with the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) for this level of study. The programme will be conducted over a period of fourteen (14) months, covering three (03) semesters of four (04) months each, at the EFC Auditorium, Rajagiriya. 3.     The resource faculty will consist of senior members of the professional staff of the EFC, academics of repute, members of the HR fraternity in Sri Lanka who have developed close working relationships with the EFC over the years, as well as ILO certified trainers. The training methodology will include lectures and discussions as well as group based assignments with presentations and other interactive exercises, all with a strong practical focus.  Several modules will be conducted by the ITC and the EFC jointly, and will involve a blend of classroom and distance learning.

4.     The Executive Diploma is directed at practicing Managers and Senior Executives in any field who aspire to pursue a career in Human Resource Management. Past participants of the EFC Certificate Programme in Labour Law and Industrial Relations are encouraged to attend. The minimum admission requirements, in conformity with the SLQF will be :

·         G. C. E (Advanced Level); or

·         Advanced Certificate; or

·         A minimum of five (05) years work experience 

5.     Applicants will be required to present themselves for an interview prior to confirmation of nominations. Interviews will be held during end September 2017. 

6.     The fee, per participant is Rs. 125,000/- plus VAT and NBT for participants from member organizations and Rs. 175,000/- plus VAT and NBT for participants from non - member organizations. In addition, a refundable Library Deposit of Rs.5,000/-  will be payable in the event any participant wishes to access the EFC Library for the duration of the Diploma Programme.
