Dhananji Seneviratne

Dhananji joined the EFC in 2016 and is engaged in representing member organisations in employment related litigation before Labour Tribunals, Arbitrations/Industrial Court, the Workmen’s Compensation Tribunal and the Department of Labour. She is further involved in negotiating on behalf of member organisations, with employee trade unions in relation to matters on workplace dispute resolution and advising member organisations on Labour/Employment Law. 

She has received training on Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), Japan and on Grievance Handling and Workplace Cooperation from the International Training Center of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO), Turin, Italy. She has also followed a programme at the Global Employer Organisation Young Professionals’ Academy in Madrid, Spain conducted by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) together with the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Dhananji has represented the Employers at Alliance 8.7 – Asia Regional Conference on ‘Reaching SDG Target 8.7 on Eradicating Forced Labour, Human Trafficking and Child Labour’ organised by the ILO in November 2019 in Kathmandu, Nepal. 

She is currently reading for a Masters in Labour Relations and Human Resource Management at the University of Colombo. 

Dhananji was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2015. Prior to joining the Federation, she was attached to the Strengthening Enforcement of the Law, Access to Justice and Social Integration in Sri Lanka (SELAJSI) programme led by the Ministry of Justice in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where she was involved in strengthening key institutions of the Criminal Justice Sector of Sri Lanka.
