Nikitha Senaratne

Nikitha joined the EFC in 2017 and is engaged in representing member organisations in employment related litigation before Labour Tribunals, Arbitrations/Industrial Court, the Workmen’s Compensation Tribunal and the Department of Labour. He is further involved in negotiating on behalf of member organisations, with employee trade unions in relation to matters on workplace dispute resolution, advising member organisations and training on Labour/Employment Law and Industrial Relations.

Prior to joining the Federation, he has gathered experience of over three years in the areas of Civil and Commercial litigation and advisory, with a focus on Intellectual Property and White Collar Crime, advising both local and international clients. 

He has received training on Mediation from the CCC-ICLP Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre, residential training on Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management and Occupational Safety and Health from the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), Japan, and completed a Master Training in Management of Employers’ and Business Member Organisations from the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO), Turin, Italy.  

Nikitha is a lecturer in Law for several undergraduate Laws programmes, since 2013. He was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in March 2016. He is currently reading for a Masters in Labour Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Colombo.
