EFC HR Solutions Unit Leads the Way with HR Align – A Diagnostic Study on HR and Compliance

The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon’s HR Solutions Unit successfully hosted a knowledge-sharing session, “HR Align-A Diagnostic Study for the Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector,” on 18 September 2025 at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Auditorium, Rajagiriya.

The session highlighted the importance of aligning HR policies, procedures and employment-law practices with the corporate-governance frameworks and regulatory expectations issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC). These frameworks play an increasingly important role in shaping HR compliance, board oversight, internal controls and risk management across the financial sector.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ranee Jayamaha, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, who shared her expertise on CBSL guidelines on corporate governance and employment-related matters. Her presentation shed light on the growing significance of governance frameworks in shaping HR and compliance practices.

The event drew participants from both EFC member and non-member organisations, providing a collaborative forum for discussion, knowledge exchange and practical guidance for HR professionals, senior managers, and representatives from the internal audit and compliance divisions of participating companies.  Through this initiative, the EFC demonstrated its commitment to equipping organizations with the tools and knowledge required to strengthen HR compliance, governance, and strategic alignment in the dynamic workplace landscape.
