EFC and Australia’s MDF Partner to Advance Disability Inclusion in the Private Sector


The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) and Australia’s MDF  took a significant step towards promoting inclusive employment for persons with disabilities in to the private sector. by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 December 2025 at the EFC.

The MoU formalises a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities in the private sector, while fostering inclusive and enabling workplace practices. By combining expertise, knowledge, and resources, EFC and MDF seek to support employers in creating meaningful employment opportunities and inclusive work environments, contributing to broader social and economic empowerment.

Representing the EFC at the signing were Mr. Vajira Ellepola, Director General, Ms. Yashoravi Bakmiwewa, Co-Deputy Director General, and Ms. Manique Gunaratne, Manager – Specialised Training & Disability Resource Centre participated in signing. Ms. Maryam Piracha, Country Director, Ms. Nimesha Palliyaguru, Sector Coordinator – Tourism, and Ms. Nipuni Daluwatta, Business Advisor represented the Australia’s MDF.

This partnership underscores the shared commitment of EFC and MDF to advancing disability inclusion within the private sector, supporting employers to adopt inclusive practices, and strengthening pathways for persons with disabilities to access sustainable employment.Through this collaboration, EFC and MDF move closer to a more equitable and inclusive future, where workplaces enable equal opportunity for all.
