EFC Conducts Training on Cultivating Workplace Well-Being through Mindfulness and Creative Psychotherapy
The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) successfully conducted a two-day training programme titled “Cultivating Workplace Well-Being through Mindfulness and Creative Psychotherapy” on 8th and 9th October 2025 at the EFC Auditorium, Rajagiriya.
The programme was designed to support organizations in addressing workplace stress, enhancing employee well-being, and fostering positive industrial relations through practical and creative approaches. Participants included employees from member and non-member organizations, reflecting growing interest in mental well-being initiatives within the workplace.
The training focused on equipping participants with creative and practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and workplace challenges, while enhancing emotional intelligence, self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. The programme also introduced creative psychotherapy techniques, including art, music, and drama-based interventions, alongside mindfulness practices aimed at improving focus, efficiency, resilience, and overall workplace productivity. Emphasis was also placed on supporting organizational goals by reducing absenteeism, turnover, and workplace conflict.
The programme was conducted in a bilingual format and was facilitated by Dr. Kumudu Ekanayake, Senior Advisor at the Professional Psychological Counselors’ Association (Guaranteed) Limited, Creative Psychotherapist, Psychological Counsellor, and Lecturer in Abnormal Psychology at the University of Ruhuna and Lanka Foundation Institute.
The training was well received by participants, who actively engaged in discussions and practical exercises. The programme reaffirmed EFC’s commitment to promoting employee well-being, healthy workplaces, and sustainable organizational performance.
