Chameel Perera

Chameel has been with the EFC since 2004 and has experience in representing member organisations before various fora such as Labour Tribunals, Labour Department, Workmen’s Compensation Court and Arbitrations/Industrial Court. In addition, his expertise includes workplace dispute resolution, negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements with Trade Unions and advising and training on Labour/Employment Law, Occupational Safety and Health and Industrial/Employee relations. He represents the interests of the employers at national and international tripartite fora such as Wages Boards, Steering Committees and fora facilitated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). 

Chameel has received extensive training both nationally and internationally on Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Productivity, Sustainable Enterprise Development, Macroeconomics and Occupational Safety and Health. He is also a certified trainer of the International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy on Essentials of Occupational Safety and Health. 

Chameel was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1999.
