Ditta de Alwis

Dittha has been with the EFC since 1997 and has extensive experience in representing member organisations before various fora such as Labour Tribunals, Labour Department and Arbitrations/Industrial Court. In addition, his expertise includes workplace dispute resolution, negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements with Trade Unions and advising and training on Labour/Employment Law, Occupational Safety and Health and Industrial/Employee relations. He represents the interests of the employers at tripartite fora such as Wages Boards.

Dittha has received training on International Labour Standards and Employer Organisations from the International Training Center of the International Labour Organisation (ICT-ILO), Turin, Italy and is also a certified trainer of the ILO on Occupational Safety and Health.

Dittha was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1991. Prior to joining the Federation, he served the Attorney General’s Department as a State Counsel whilst also functioning as the Personal Assistant to the then Attorney General and handling the Public Petitions Unit.
