Prasad has been with the EFC since 2006. He represents member organisations at legal fora, such as Labour Tribunals, Industrial Courts and the Labour Department. He also advises member organisations on day-to-day operational issues relating to Labour/Employment Law, Industrial Relations, workplace conflict resolution and collective bargaining with trade unions. Prasad is an experienced resource person in training on Labour/Employment Law and Industrial Relations and lectures at training programmes conducted by the Federation. In addition, Prasad represents the interests of employers at various tripartite fora such as the Wages Boards for the Cinema Trade and Tea, Rubber and Coconut Growing Trade and National Steering Committees on labour migration and reintegration and one million jobs creation.
He has received training in Labour Law, Industrial Relations and Negotiations at trainings and workshops held in Thailand, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Nepal, Lebanon, Morocco and South Korea. He is also the EFC representative in relation to the activities initiated by the Japan International Labour Foundation.
Prasad was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1993 and was practicing in the area of employment law at the private bar prior to joining the EFC.
