Shanuka joined the EFC in January 2026 and is assigned to the plantation services Unit. He is engaged in representing member organizations in employment related litigation before various fora, including High court, Labour Tribunals, Arbitrations/Industrial Court, the Workmen’s Compensation Tribunal and the Department of Labour and in advising member organizations on Labour/Employment Law and Industrial Relations.

Prior to joining the EFC, Shanuka has worked as junior counsel to several President’s Counsels and senior Attorneys-at-Law. Shanuka has exposure in Criminal law, Labour Law and Human Rights Law and has appeared before the Original Courts and Appellate Courts. Shanuka was called the Bar in 2017.
