Thiwanka Chandrasena

Thiwanka joined the EFC in February 2023 and is engaged in representing member organisations in employment related litigation before Labour Tribunals, Arbitrations/Industrial Court, the Workmen’s Compensation Tribunal and the Department of Labour. She also engages in advising member organisations on Labour/Employment Law.

Prior to joining the Federation, she has been attached to the Corporation Division of the Attorney General’s Department where she gained experience in handling labour related matters including drafting of pleadings and representing the State before Labour Tribunals, Industrial Arbitration and University Services Appeals Board. From April 2022 to January 2023 Thiwanka has been functioning as FIAT counsel of the Attorney General’s Department representing the State and its officers before the High Courts and District Courts of Sri Lanka while also engaging in providing legal opinions to all organs of the State on legal issues where advice of the Attorney General was sought.
