Vijaya joined the EFC in 2013 and is engaged in representing member organisations before Labour Tribunals, the Department of Labour, Workmen’s Compensation Court and Arbitrations/Industrial Court. He is also involved in advising member organisations on Labour/Employment Law and Industrial/Employee Relations and in HR consultancies such as on-site HR/legal assistance and conducting outsource compliance audits.

He has followed a programme at the Global Employer Organisation Young Professionals’ Academy in Madrid, Spain conducted by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) together with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and a programme on Trainer of Trainers in Kathmandu, Nepal organised by the ILO. 

Vijaya was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2012.
